It’s unfortunate that with the era of satellite television services most of us fell out of the habit of recording our favourite TV shows. Gone was the time of VHS tapes but so too was the time of being able to go out for the evening and not worry about missing that important football match or episode of Corrie.
Thankfully Sky came to our rescue and put in place a standard that all the other digital TV networks and companies have since based their own systems on. We’re talking about Sky Plus of course, that incredibly handy addition to your Sky box that lets you record one channel while watching another. You can even record an entire TV series to watch at your leisure.
You can even schedule recordings when you are away from home via your mobile telephone, or from the Sky website. Learn more about this by reading our guide “How to Record Sky Channels from your Mobile Phone or Computer“.
Sky Plus isn’t just a recording device. It also you allows you to pause live TV, a definite necessity in this busy world we live in. You can pause your soap opera just before it starts, grab a cup of tea and then sit back down to play the episode, and then, you can even fast forward through the ads. Additionally, you can rewind live TV, brilliant for creating your own football like replays of great TV action.
Free Sky Plus Box
Sign up to Sky television today and you will get a free Sky+ Box worth €49, this online only offer also includes free standard set-up worth €30. That’s an overall saving of €79.
Sky TV packages start at just €25 per month. Order your free Sky Plus box now. (read more…)

Sky have always been ahead of the curve when it comes to launching brilliant new services and technology to it’s customers. Sky Plus is a must have feature that has been copied but never equaled by other TV companies, and it’s the only TV provider in Ireland that currently offers the ability to record programs from your mobile phone.
Sky are going one step further today with the launch of Sky Go, the online and mobile TV service.

Sky Go gives all Sky TV customers the opportunity to watch Sky channels and TV programmes on PCs, laptops, mobiles and tablets at no extra charge.
We don’t always have the opportunity to sit down infront of the TV, many of us like curling up in bed with our iPads or laptops to catch up on the News or our favourite shows, what better way to do that now than with Sky.
You’ll also be able to watch your Sky TV when you’re on the go – simply connect to a WiFi network, no need for complicated devices like the Slingbox, simply login to the Sky Go website and you will be able to watch TV channels live on your computer, just like you would on your Sky box. (read more…)

The Four New Channels on Sky Digital
We’re big fans of BBC Three, which provides innovative content focusing on new talent and new technologies and is a big favourite with the 16-34 year old age group and cult favourites such as Being Human started here.

When you’re in the mood for something a bit more serious BBC Four is there with it’s wide variety of programmes including drama, documentaries, music, international film, comedy and current affairs and aims to offer an alternative to mainstream programming.
Great for kids of all ages and some adults too, CBeebies and CBBC are packed full of kids TV programs, with CBeebies aimed at the 0-6 year age group and CBBC aimed at 6 to 16 year olds. All of the BBC children’s programming is certain to keep kids of all ages entertained, as well as aiming to help them learn too.
