How to Record Sky Channels from your Mobile Phone or Computer

Sky Plus has already revolutionised TV recording and viewing for Irish users with the Series Link feature, which lets your Sky+ box record an entire series of your favourite show, but now they’ve taken it a step further by no longer limiting you to setting up your recordings from home. We’re happy to announce that the new Sky+ Remote Record feature is now available on Sky Ireland.

If you’re not quite sure what Sky+ is you can read our handy guide What is Sky Plus And Why Do I Need It?

Sky+ Remote Record

The Sky+ Series Link means you can’t possibly miss fantstic new episodes of Game of Thrones, Doctor Who or Grey’s Anatomy. Whether you’re stuck late in the office or are asked out for drinks with friends, you’ll never have to say no again. There is nothing quite like the satisfied feeling of knowing that you won’t miss any of the drama or intrigue, and what could be better than saving up all those hours of great TV for a lazy Saturday, when you can truly relax and enjoy it.

However, as easy as the Sky Guide on your TV screen is to navigate for day to day viewing, it’s much easier to look up the full weekly TV listings online. This is the best place to find out when a new TV show is starting, or when your favourite shows are returning, it’s also a great place to find once off TV shows like documentaries or specials, and it’s a great place to find out what movies are showing over the next few weeks.

If only you could combine the online TV guide with the controls of your Sky Plus box, it would make things so much easier. (read more…)

Why Sky Atlantic Will Make You Switch to Sky TV

Sky TV recently signed an exclusive five year deal to secure the rights to show HBO’s entire archive and new HBO programming in the UK and Ireland. With the launch of their new flagship channel Sky Atlantic they boasted that they would “bring iconic television to Ireland” and since launching in February, Sky Atlantic has done just that.

Since February Sky Atlantic has offered viewers the best in American drama and comedy from the premium television networks HBO, Showtime and AMC. These networks are home of some of the most groundbreaking television ever made, from the Sopranos, ER and Mad Men to brand new and eagerly awaited series Boardwalk Empire and Blue Bloods.

Personal favourites of ours that are getting a full re-run treatment on Sky Atlantic are the science fiction epic Battlestar Galactica, the incredibly tense crime drama 24, and the quirky and dark family drama Six Feet Under. We’re also really looking forward to finally getting a chance to watch the highly rated series Entourage, Prison Break, The Wire and Weeds, having missed all of them the first time round. Why Sky Sports is the Home of Football on Sky

Liverpool face Manchester City at Anfield on Monday night, and despite the home advantage not even the bookies can decide who will win this clincher of a Barclay’s Premier League match. Then, in less than a month’s time the two heavy weights Chelsea and Manchester United will go head-to-head in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

The next two months are going to be an exciting one for football fans in Ireland and the UK, where will you be watching these matches from? Having pints accidentally spilled down your back at the local? Or relaxing in the comfort of your own home with your friends and family, in glorious HD and in total control of your own highlights using your Sky Plus box.

Make this fantasy a reality by ordering Sky TV and adding the Sky Sports pack. For only €34 per month, the Sky Sports pack includes Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Sports 4 and 24 hour sports coverage on Sky Sports News. With five dedicated channels, Sky Sports gives you exclusively live coverage of the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Heineken Cup, the Masters and more.

Why Order Sky Television Online?

Before we get into any more details, let’s first discuss the main way to order Sky Digital Television. You could go the route of calling up one of those “installers” in the local paper or head down to Dixons to get the hard sell, but the easiest and fastest way to get sky digital is to order Sky TV online from the official website.

There are a few reasons you would want to do this over ordering from a shop or retailer.

The first reason is that it is cheaper to order it online. On the official Sky Ireland website you do not have to pay the extra fees that Dixons, Harvey Normans or any Joe Soap sky installer charge to make their money. Why pay extra and have to go to the trouble of applying somewhere else? (read more…)
