How to Record Sky Channels from your Mobile Phone or Computer
Sky Plus has already revolutionised TV recording and viewing for Irish users with the Series Link feature, which lets your Sky+ box record an entire series of your favourite show, but now they’ve taken it a step further by no longer limiting you to setting up your recordings from home. We’re happy to announce that the new Sky+ Remote Record feature is now available on Sky Ireland.

Sky+ Remote Record
The Sky+ Series Link means you can’t possibly miss fantstic new episodes of Game of Thrones, Doctor Who or Grey’s Anatomy. Whether you’re stuck late in the office or are asked out for drinks with friends, you’ll never have to say no again. There is nothing quite like the satisfied feeling of knowing that you won’t miss any of the drama or intrigue, and what could be better than saving up all those hours of great TV for a lazy Saturday, when you can truly relax and enjoy it.
However, as easy as the Sky Guide on your TV screen is to navigate for day to day viewing, it’s much easier to look up the full weekly TV listings online. This is the best place to find out when a new TV show is starting, or when your favourite shows are returning, it’s also a great place to find once off TV shows like documentaries or specials, and it’s a great place to find out what movies are showing over the next few weeks.
If only you could combine the online TV guide with the controls of your Sky Plus box, it would make things so much easier. The second you spotted a show you wanted to record you could schedule it and never have to go near your Sky Plus box to do it. Thankfully the magic makers over at Sky have finally brought this brilliant idea to life with the new Remote Record feature of the online Sky TV listings. All you need to do is make sure you’re signed in with Sky ID (you can register here) and all the funcatioanlly you’ve been waiting for will be at the tips of your fingers.
The Free Sky+ App
If you can’t get to a computer however, there is a much easier way to schedule your recordings with the free iPad and iPhone Sky Plus application. This gorgeous little app offers much more than the 7 day TV guide, it will even recommend new shows to you and outlines the highlights of the day for you. Once you’ve chosen your show, you just tap the record button and it will appear on your own Sky+ box at home, ready to watch when you get in. The great thing abot this app is that you can use it anywhere in the world, so if you forget to schedule your Sky Plus box to record those precious episodes of your favourite soaps, you can do it from the comfort of your hotel in New York or campsite in France.
